3d max vs blender11/7/2022 I like many other's that use Blender probably learned doing the Doughnut tut series. Making the move, from commercial 3d software to blender part 4 (Tools). Bill's video tut series on making scenery with Blender is probably the best place to start if one was to go the Blender route. Posts about Blender vs 3ds max written by Baltazaar. Going to throw this out there also, the Blender forum here has a lot of valuable resources when it comes to fs development. It's much easier for a beginner to achieve good results in Blender with less time, from my experience. I used to use Max a lot and enjoyed it but wouldn't go back after learning Blender. The Blender2MSFS export plugin was ready day one and will be improved well into the future so that's a plus for Blender as well. I could be way off about functionality because it's been many years since I used Max. The amount of free tutorials on YouTube for learning Blender is abundant not to mention Blender has more built-in usable functionality than 3DS in my opinion. Honestly though, cost is a big factor here and because Blender is free and has a lot of support from this community and others it's by far the smarter choice if you have no experience with either.
